McDonald's milkshake machines broken?

Over the years, the Internet has been awash with stories of broken McDonald’s ice-cream and milkshake machines.

Whether this is actually true or not, it isn’t great for customers eager for a McFlurry.

The myth (or truth, depending on who you talk to…) has even lead to the birth of a website dedicated to charting the health of said milkshake machines.

McDonald’s Milkshake Machines Broken?

Supposedly, McDonald’s employees have often said the reason for this is that their ice cream machines take a really long time to clean.

Apparently, in some cases, it can take up to four hours to sanitise one single machine.

When these machines are in the process of being cleaned, they can’t serve ice cream (which isn’t great for business). And, when staff are busy handling food and beverage orders, no one has the time.

You can see how this can become a vicious cycle, for any business. Busy staff, unmaintained machines, busy staff… it goes on, and on and on.

Milkshake Machine Maintenance

This is often a common problem in the industry – soft-serve ice-cream machines take a significant amount of time to clean.

Frankly, it can be hard job convincing employees to get excited about it, no matter how important it is.

On top of this, most businesses in the hospitality or leisure industries are incredibly under-staffed (at the time of writing) thanks to the Covid Pandemic, making retaining staff very difficult.

Restaurants, bars and hotels in Ireland are all noticing a sizeable gap in staffing which causes substantial disruption to all the normal routine tasks normally carried out day-to-day.

When working with dairy products in particular, it’s imperative your machine is cleaned regularly and properly maintained.

This is why we offer cleaning and maintenance packages for all our customers – taking away all the stress and hassle of cleaning from you. Our engineers are trained to clean your machine as quickly and efficiently as possible, leaving you with peace of mind that all is being looked after correctly, eliminating the need to leave the tedious but vital task to employees.

Dairyglen engineers have all the necessary skills and experience to help make sure your soft-serve machines are clean and working correctly every single time.
